Suzanne Barbour was elected by a 12-member board who govern the CGS, an organization of about 500 universities in the United States and Canada that grant master’s and doctoral degrees.

UNC-Chapel Hill doctoral student Susanna L. Harris has been selected to serve on the advisory committee of experts and graduate education leaders.

The Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) has announced that Dr. Steven W. Matson, dean of The Graduate School and professor of biology, is the 2018 recipient of the Debra W. Stewart Award for Outstanding Leadership in Graduate Education.

The recent findings, part of the Understanding PhD Career Pathways for Program Improvement project, are based on survey responses from 35 institutions.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is one of 29 universities nationwide awarded a competitive grant to survey its doctoral students and alumni on the career pathways they have chosen.
