The Royster Society of Fellows attracts exceptionally talented graduate students from around the world to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The fellowship program also prepares them for unprecedented global learning opportunities.

Doctoral students from King’s College London will soon travel to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to discuss graduate education in a global context with Carolina doctoral students.

Interdisciplinary fellowships help doctoral students reach their highest levels of achievement

“I’ve always been interested in reaching across disciplinary boundaries,” says new Royster Distinguished Professor Marsha Collins. She shares her enthusiasm for the interdisciplinary Royster Society, as well as her belief in the uplifting power of education.

This year, 43 Royster Fellows, members of The Graduate School’s select fellowship program, have been paired with 62 Carolina Covenant Scholars, undergraduates from low-income backgrounds who have been admitted to Carolina and have the opportunity to graduate debt-free.

Marsha Collins has been appointed the Caroline H. and Thomas S. Royster Distinguished Professor for Graduate Education.

“Historical Trauma and Healing: the Fourth Annual Native Leaders Symposium” will be held April 1 at the Carolina Inn, and the public is invited to attend.
