The Graduate School is pleased to announce its annual call for nominations for the 2023 doctoral hooding ceremony speaker. This ceremony recognizes the commitment, dedication, and hard work of our doctoral students as well as our graduate faculty.
At each hooding ceremony, we welcome back one of our doctoral alumni to offer words of inspiration and support. As we prepare for next year’s ceremony to be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, we would like to invite you to submit speaker nominations for consideration by December 5.
To submit a nomination, please provide a paragraph with the following information to Associate Dean Kate McAnulty.
- Name of your alumna/us
- Their current institutional/organizational affiliation
- Their area(s) of interest/research
- Any additional info regarding their background (diversity), experiences (major accomplishments), and/or recent affiliation with UNC (mentor, panelist, etc).
