The wave whisperer

Jana Haddad uses physics to study how living shorelines affect ocean waves and could stem the tide of coastal erosion. She is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of North Carolina’s Institute of Marine Sciences, housed within the College of Arts and Sciences, and won the inaugural Tar Heel Three Minute Thesis competition this past spring.
